US Coastal
In need of a break after a very long training course on a new airplane, I headed to Oregon for a week, enjoying a moody and misty coast that was all but deserted during the middle of the Covid pandemic. I spent the days driving the twisty roads, getting food to go (as all the dine-in options were temporarily suspended), and seeking out the random spots amidst the woods and waterfalls along the coastline.
With travel slowed down, I had been able to score a last-minute rental right on the sand in Neskowin, and I spent every morning walking the tideline of the beach, wading across the freezing cold water of Neskowin Creek, and depending on the tide, exploring the petrified stumps of the Ghost Forest that stuck out of the swirling water. And always looming over my walk was the massive, tree-covered slab of Proposal Rock.
